Orwellian Censorship on Social Media

In today’s high-tech world, major corporations like Facebook, Twitter, Google, and Apple are using their power to try to silence Christian truth and to squelch the proclamation of the Gospel.

Right now, Section 230 of the 1996 Communications Decency Act gives online companies broad immunity from legal liability for user-generated content and wide latitude to control what appears on their platforms.

And control they do!

For instance, Twitter now says it will ban President Trump for life, yet they leave Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei threatening to destroy Israel and denying the Holocaust unchecked.

People just like you have their speech moderated, flagged, and censored daily by these virtual monopolies. They have become “gatekeepers,” pushing those who don’t adhere to the politically correct Left out of bounds and off the web.

These censors are out of control!

That is why we have created a petition to both House and Senate leadership urging them to change Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act to hold social media companies accountable for libel (like newspapers, magazines, and political organizations are).

If you agree, sign the petition now!

TO:
Speaker of the House—Nancy Pelosi
House Minority Leader—Kevin McCarthy

Christian and conservative voices are being unfairly censored on social media. Twitter and Facebook have even gone so far as to censor a major newspaper. One of many examples: The New York Post, on a story about President Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, and potential government corruption. This is not only wrong, it is unconstitutional and many believed it impacted the national election outcome. I demand accountability from social media giants, just as we do from newspapers and the press.

Please do everything within your power, as leaders in the House, to change Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act to hold social media companies accountable for libel. Free speech for all must be protected.
